How about Chartering in a yacht ?
Maybe you have not considered this before. Or maybe you thought you would have to be an experienced seamen to charter a yacht. Let us assure you that you need not know port from starboard in order to materialize an unforgettable holiday on one of the yachts. You can leave all the technicalities in the capable hands of your skipper and your crew. Although of course you can always take a turn at the wheel... Let us suppose you have decided to charter a yacht and you have learned that "starboard" is right...
A gulette is a yacht typically built of pine wood and styled with pointed fore and round aft. Traditionally they have been built in Marmaris (Bozburun) and Bodrum area in Turkey and hence are referred to as "Bodrum-type" yachts or " Gulettes"; sometimes also referred to as 'Caiques'. Each one is equipped with one or two masts but of the weight, they are in fact more suitable for cruising than for sailing. They have superior seagoing quality are very comfortable, offering large living areas, wide sun decks, spacious cabins, WC/ showers and a sun aft deck furnished lounge area.
A gulet is a traditional handmade wooden boat equipped with masts. The most common gulets have 6 to 8 double cabins and so accomodate max.12 to 16 passengers. Unlike cruises on large ocean liners, on a gulet you can explore the secluded and often deserted bays, coves and islands of the spectacular Turkish coastline. You will see a hidden Turkey, beautiful beyond belief, and most of it completely unseen by the average tourist! During the day there are plenty of chances to swim and snorkel in the clear blue waters or explore the natural and historical sites along the way. Features of a gulet include an interior salon/bar area and a fully equipped galley. All cabins have en-suite with hot and cold running water. There are 1 or 2 sundecks with comfortable sunbeds and a canopied aft deck with cushioned seating,freezers to keep drinks cold, and a CD/cassette player. The gulets come with facilities for outdoor and indoor dining. Also a dinghy with outboard, a ship-to-shore radio,mobile telephone and life jackets are on board. All the boats are government approved with fully qualified captains. No experience of boats is required. All you need to do is relax!
What is the best time of the year to go?
Let us not simplify matters by trying to judge what is the best time of year for yacht holiday. You go to the Mediterranean and the Aegean to get brown. What is the use of going so far out if you look no different at the end from the mob packing the sands at any beach? Now to get the very special, deep, perfect tan unique to the Mediterranean you would have to go there! And the browning time is most any time of the year. But the most ideal one is the mix of sea breeze, salt and sun which you find only on your yacht. Second half of the May, June and September are generally hot enough to tan without burning. For those who wish to swim at any time of day and night and for those who are out and out sun worshippers, we suggest July and August. Cruising in May and October expose that serene beauty of nature and this is perhaps the best time as the coves and beaches are not crowded also a whisper you a hint that cost is lower then original hot season.
We suggest you to start plumping for sail or motor or a combination of both. Then you ought to decide how many people are going to be in your party (we can accommodate any number cabins from 4 - 5 - 6 - to 8 sharing with another in the cabin). Do you wish to see a lot of places or would you rather idle about? (Remember that if your choice is the former, a fast boat is essential). However these are just a few hints to help you choose the right boat as any detailed plan depend on how long you have got and what the weather and sea are like.

In the following detail sentences we have tried to show you more details of life on board and some technical data concerning about yachts. Sail-Trek and relax on board is a unique holiday concept. We use our sailboat as a floating base camp and walk daily to unspoiled areas of South-West Turkey where Taurus Mountains meet the Mediterranean Sea. Part of each day we will be sailing from one bay to another Our anchorage places will be small fisherman villages to isolated bays. We would only be too pleased to welcome you on board!

We are organizing it possible for you enjoy a further adventure, sailing on one of the delightful purpose - built yachts called "Gulet" and to enjoy the sun, sea and beautiful coastline and to experience some undiscovered natural wonders this country offers. Cabins will be clean on arrival and shover rooms will be cleaned daily. Each boat is equipped with radio cassette player, WHF, telephone, wind surf board, snorkeling equipment for two, fishing lines, sun loungers, all available free of charge.
Prices include welcome party captain crew, fuel, harbour expenses and local taxes. Private WC/ shower in each cabin. For one week full board meal basis, anchored at times in remote secluded bays or in sight of historical places. You will have plenty of time when at anchor swiming, sunbathing, windsurf, fishing, snorkelling or go off and explore the shores. It all depends on how much time you can spare for your vacation? what sort of yacht you charter? and your inclination under normal circumstances with only a week or two you can make your plan. Please note that our standard guest capacity is 8 - 10 - 12 - 14 beds on board. Take a cabin and make new friends but be prepared to share interest or show tolerance with the other shipmates. Price include 1/2 double cabin, all meals (breakfast-lunch-dinner), crew services, harbour fees, fuel. Welcome party captain harbour expenses, water,18% V.A.T and local taxes. Single passengers who wish to have a cabin to themselves must pay additional 50% of the cruise price. Children under the age of 12 have discount of 50%, if they share their parents cabin. The price does not include the drinks which can be bought at the yacht's bar.
